Yes, Peter boated 3 Blue Marlin and 1 Striped Marlin in just an 8 hour charter, the biggest being 247 LBs! Congratulations on one hell of a job!!

John Hoxmeier from Ft. Collins, CO treated his 3 sons: Charles 24, Alex 22, and Joe 18 to a Hawaiian vacation and charter fishing trip for successfully graduating from their respective class: High School, Jr. College and College.

They had only 1 reqest: instead of trolling all day for maybe a marlin, please just try to get each one of them something...

BOY, DID THEY GET THAT RIGHT!

On Sunday, May 31st 2009 on the Linda Sue III, they boated 67 Mahi Mahi and 1 Ono. All 67 Mahi were boated in less than 2 hours - at least they caught something - Nice job, guys!

Brad Norris from Jasper, IN had the battle of a lifetime with a 360 LB Marlin due to one huge "Tiger Shark" and 3 Oceanic Whitetip Sharks that wanted to have the Marlin for dinner. No matter how hard deck hand Lael Wilson pulled on the leader, the Marlin didn't want to come near the surface to be gaffed. After 2 long hours with a lot of boat moves, we finally got a gaff in doing 6 knots. Usually we gaff at 1 knot.

If Captain Jeff Heintz (far right) looks tired, it's because he is still running his own boat. Both fish were caught on the World Famous Lael Wilson Lures (pictured on the fish).

Jim Miersch from Arlington Heights, IL won the Salmon Unlimited, Cass Sliwa Memorial Fund Raising Auction for a half day charter in Hawaii aboard the Linda Sue III with Capt/Owner of the Linda Sue III in Kona. The original Linda Sue was in Waukegan, IL and Cass & Captain Jeff were some of the original members of Salmon Unlimited. Cass & Jean Sliwa were some of the original founders of Salmon Unlimited that made it the great organization it is today.
The half day charter in at the auction every year is Capt Jeff Heintz' s tribute to a great guy.

Jeff Heintz Jr. from Spring Green, WI came out to Kona 4/25/08 to fish with his Dad. Captain Jeff Heintz originally from Chicago, named the Linda Sue III after Jeff Jr's 2 sisters. The family had a wonderful week in Kona.

Grandpa Jeff got to spend time with two of his grand-kids John (6) & Lilly (4) and Jeff Jr.'s wife, Laura. Jeff Jr. and Captain Lael hauled in all: 78 Ahi "Yellow Fin Tuna" along with 2 Ono & 1 Mahi Mahi.

Mike Jutt from Merrick, NY took his 2 sons fishing in Kona 2/27/08. Chris Jutt brought in the great Spearfish. They went back to Oahu the same day for a Spearfish Cookout.

The moral of this story is - fly over to Kona from any island - round trip - fish all day in calm waters, save money and fly back with your catch!

Willie McCleary and his wife Peggie from British Columbia took 11 years to came back to Kona to fish on the Linda Sue for the 2nd time. Willie caught this very rare 295 lb Blue Marlin. Evertthing about the Marlin was normal except for the fact it has two bills! From left to right: Capt. Jeff Heintz, Peggie McCleary, Willie McCleary and Capt. Lael Wilson. Nancy & John Zogorski have fished on the Linda Sue for the past 15 years. This year, Nancy boted the largest Ono in Kona for 2008 so far. It got beat 1/22/08 by only 1-1/2 lbs. John & Nancy went out on the Linda Sue charter boat for Kona fishing again to try to take the lead for 2008. However, they missed by 4 lbs on the 2nd trip but also caught 2 spearfish and a nice Mahi Mahi.

Robert Hegg waited 13 years to come back to Kona and fish on the Linda Sue again. When his boys, Gunner 7 & Hayden 9, were old enough to go deep sea fishing on the Linda Sue III. The boys had a great day each catching a big spearfish!

The 3rd largest Blue Marlin caught in the Huggo's 12th Annual Wahine 2007 Tournament. It was a LADY ANGLER ONLY Tournament - 95 boat loads of them - A marlin had to be 400 lbs to qualify in order to be brought to the scale. Capt. Jeff Heintz measured the Marlin while it was still swimming next to the boat - fast math after 32 years of looking at these beasts, he guessed it at 400 - gaffed it and it weighted in at 402.5 lbs.

(This picture was taken the following morning with Capt Jeff Heintz and crew, Lael Wilson because Bill had to leave with the cruise ship. What a fish tale he now have to tell!

Bravo for the Bravos!  Bill Bravos and family from Barrington, IL got off the Hawaii cruise ship in hopes of catching a Mahi Mahi. Instead of a small fish, a MONSTER of 644 LB Marlin came up behind the Linda Sue III two (2) hours into their 4-hour charter. After a 4 hour battle (that's right, their 4-hour charter turned into 6 hour), Bill won and with the courtesy of the cruise line holding a tender for them (they were late) and a fast taxi back to the pier downtown - everybody won but the fish.

Wayne Gray from Filmore, IL chartered the Linda Sue III along with fishing buddy Chester "Stoney" Stoneburner for Wayne's birthday. This was the GREAT RESULT or ending after 3 other (non-Linda Sue) attempts in Hawaii and catching nothing. The first 3 attempts were on other charters not on the Linda Sue.
Linda Sue III proved to be the lucky one for Wayne! What a great catch!!
